Flight Test – Flight Instructor Rating
Dear Bob,
I just wanted to send you a quick message to thank you for a very educational and enriching experience, especially considering that I’m a teacher in the Surrey School District. I am, of course, thrilled to have my Instructor Rating back. I did my first instructional flight at Pro last Sunday and was already able to put what you taught me to use.
I look forward to being able to work with you again in the future.
Best Regards,

Avionics Training Program
Dear Bob Leroux,
On behalf of the Aviation Company «Ukrainian Helicopters», I want to express my gratitude for delivering the course for our pilots.
It was a great pleasure to work with you, since our collaboration turned out to be fruitful and successful. I would like to thank you for providing a deep insight into various aspects of avionics that are of utmost importance in our realm. This course served as a theoretical and practical basis for safe and efficacious operating procedures and therefore enhanced delivery of our services.
I really appreciate your attitude towards information management and aptitude for presenting information. My colleagues also expressed their great respect for your work. Both pilots have completed the Course Critique, and you can find the pdf-files attached to the email. I will provide a copy of the presentation I delivered at the class a little bit later. I am pleased that you found it illuminating. You can use any of my comments from the Course Critique or this letter for the web-page testimonials.
I believe that our close collaboration is of intrinsic value, and I really appreciate your contribution into our company. We will take your suggestion regarding the future course into consideration and contact you to discuss further cooperation. Our employees send their warmest greetings to you, as they all found this to be a significant experience.
I am glad you like Ukraine. I hope it has left a remarkable trace in your life. In addition, there are many compelling places yet to be seen here, so you are always welcome!
Sincerely,
Yevhenii Kostik,

Employed at Jazz
Good morning Bob,
A very Happy New Year to you.
I have good news to let you know that I have been employed by Jazz Aviation.
Since the day I arrived in Canada and met you as a student pilot at Professional IFR, you have been one of the few people who has watched me grow as a pilot and never hesitated to offer guidance in my aviation career, and I would like to thank you for all the mentorship and support you have given me throughout the years.
I hope to see you again soon in the near future and I am looking forward to attending the Flight Instructor Refresher Course next year.
Regards
Harry Benny

Private Pilot Flight Test
Bob was my private pilot flight examiner, and I, his very nervous candidate a couple of years ago. On the day of my flight test, we briefed the weather for the flight over the phone and I told him it was looking good. After driving from another city and right as he walked through the front doors of the building the clouds came in, the winds started gusting, and the visibility went down to less than 3 miles. We both rescheduled the flight and I felt awful for making him have to drive all the way out like that.
It wasn’t until the next flight test opportunity that I was privileged to experience Bobs wealth of knowledge and experience. I have always been a horrible test taker, and Bob was so calm, kind, and understanding to the point of even giving me a mint during the flight test to help me calm my nerves. It wasn’t until recently that I really looked back and thought about the unique teaching techniques, experiences, and tact he used in my situation and it really inspired me to also seek that knowledge. Although our interaction was short, it had an impact. He is one of the reasons I now want to become a flight instructor and learn as much as he does. He is an amazing flight instructor, a great examiner, and a true influencer. Thank you Bob!

Flight Instructor Refresher Course – Aeroplane
I signed up to “refresh” my ULFI knowledge base on numerous topics covered in this course and also to gain a better understanding on how to gap the bridge between the ULPP and RPP. It was also in an effort to better prepare my students in theoretical and/or flight related exams if they decide to upgrade to a UL Passenger Carrying or a higher licence, such as an RPP or PPL. The opportunity to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere with Class I to IV’s from all different backgrounds and with varied experience made for a great forum and “learning” platform. Add to this a variety of great speakers from NavCanada right up to Canadian Forces presenting interesting topics, lessons, and lessons learned from their own experiences.
My course with Bob last week in Langley certainly exceeded my expectations and was well worth the time and dollar spent. I highly recommend NavPath Aviation Ltd to all fellow UL-FI’s out there who are looking to refresh, expand their knowledge base and wanting to upgrade their skills.
Thanks again

GPS and IFR Training
I fly out of Abbotsford (CYXX) and had Bob Leroux do my Group 3 IFR Flight Test. Prior to this, Bob and I have done some flight training with my Piper Turbo Arrow III.
Bob has a great deal of experience (and patience). Bob knows the modern way of flying and knows his GPS and the IFR system inside out. It was great and enjoyable flying with NavPath. I got more with Bob than any other course, reading material or practice.
I am amazed on what I picked up (or did not know) about my avionics which includes the Garmin GNS 430W, the Aspen Evolution 1000 Multi-Function Display and the S-TEC 55X Autopilot.
I will definitely keep up training and stay proficient with NavPath. I would strongly recommend flight training with NavPath Aviation Ltd.

Flight Testing
At Pacific Rim Aviation Academy, we hired Bob (NavPath Aviation) as a Pilot Examiner for Multi-Engine and Group 1 IFR flight tests. I found Bob to be a calm, kind, and fair examiner as well as a wealth of knowledge on both training and testing standards and best practices. I can highly recommend Bob Leroux as a pilot examiner.

Flight Instructor Refresher Course
I am most appreciative of the effort that you have made to develop such a course. As I stated in the initial introductions, I believe strongly in the value of professional development, and a course such as this one gives less-experienced instructors an opportunity to learn far more than we would ever learn through a flight test alone. The collective experience of everybody in the room contributed to positive discussion, and thought-provoking questions. I feel reinvigorated as an instructor, and I am eager to return to flight instruction to apply what I have learned.
On a personal level, I find that your approach is thoughtful – and you enrich the course with examples from your experience. At no time did I ever feel inadequate or inferior due to my relative lack of experience. Four years of flight instruction experience pales in comparison to the 30+ years of many of the people in the room. To have been able to learn from you has been a real privilege.
My next renewal will be a ride. The value of what you have developed, however, extends far beyond the need for a renewal.
Thank you, Bob, for an enriching experience. I look forward to working with you again in the future.
Best,
Jordan L’Abbe, October 2012
Recurrent Training Program
As an eleven year RCAF pilot and 25 year Civil Aviation Inspector I quit flying on retirement. After a decade away I decided to get my licence back. As part of the process I attended Bob’s Pilot Recurrency course last fall to see where I was in the big picture. Well, the course was nicely presented, practical with plenty of relevant content and exercises, so I was quickly able to learn that I was going to be fine. From the discussions and exercises during the day I was able to determine that the other attendees were clearly learning some valuable lessons as well. Any pilot would gain from this course. It just ins’t a paper exercise! I’ll do this course again while remaining encouraged to keep-up in the meantime.

Garmin GNS 430 Basic-VFR Navigation and GNS 430 Advanced-IFR Procedures
I was in the process of completing my initial IFR rating, and was having problems grasping the Garmin GNS 430. I was being shown how to use the GPS on a computer simulator, using a mouse to control the knobs and buttons, which is very different from how it’s actually operated in the aircraft! I had seen a notice about Bob’s GPS courses at the school I was attending, and signed up without delay. Bob spent the weekend teaching the “ins and outs” of the Garmin GNS 430, both for Basic VFR Navigation and Advanced IFR Procedures. Bob provided actual certified Garmin GNS 430 receivers to enable the class to have a “hands on” experience. He took the time to really make sure I understood how to use the Garmin GNS 430 efficiently and with confidence. Truth be told, when returning for my next flight after the weekend course I actually taught my instructor a few things!!
As Bob says: “Learn it on the ground … Experience it in the air!”

GPS Training
I am in the process of upgrading my Cessna with a Garmin GNS 430 and as part of that program, I took Bob Leroux’s GNS 430 Basic VFR Navigation and GNS 430 Advanced IFR Procedures training courses. I am an experience ATR pilot and have flown extensively using the KLN90B GPS and I have had previous training on the Garmin GNS 430. I also used a simulator equipped with the Garmin GNS 430 during my last instrument check ride.
Despite my previous experience, Bob’s training background, his GPS knowledge and his GPS avionics training package and Garmin GNS 430 receivers have taken my knowledge base several levels higher than they were. I highly recommend this training for both novice and experienced aviators.

Flight Instructor Refresher Course
This course is INVALUABLE! I have known Bob for sometime, and he had mentioned to me that he was putting on a Flight Instructor Refresher Course. I was planning on pursuing an instructor rating and thought it would be a great idea to get a “heads up” on what was to come in my training. I learned a wealth of knowledge from attending this three day course. Not only did Bob present subjects on many fundamental areas in the industry, but he also brought in presenters from Transport Canada, flight colleges and professional pilots with many years of operational experience to share their insight. I highly recommend this course to all pilots embarking on their initial flight instructor rating. It has saved me copious amounts of time and money in my training and I am well ahead of my fellow initial instructor classmates. For current instructors renewing their rating, not only is this course a more relaxed atmosphere to renew your instructor rating, this course will enhance your instructional techniques to make you become a better instructor.

GPS Training and Flight Review
“It was a pleasure to learn the full capabilities of my Garmin GNS 430 units and also to complete my flight review which involved going over the systems on my Cirrus SR20 both on the ground and in-flight. Bob’s many years of experience as a flight instructor and Transport Canada Inspector come through with added insight which has certainly helped my piloting skills. I found it a really good experience and would recommend NavPath’s services.”

Flight Training
“With Bob’s flight training approach, you get more than what you expect. In addition to the specific skills that you learn in the training, there is an ongoing emphasis on the total flight experience – including safety, systems management, navigation and communication. Every flight lesson included some practical tips where you picked up some knowledge from Bob’s years of experience. Not only did I get the rating that I needed, I became a much better overall pilot.”
Guff Muench, Piper Matrix, June 2010
Garmin Training
“I’ve had a Garmin GNS 430 for about 6 years but have only been using it for simple “Direct-To” navigation. Bob’s Garmin training session unlocked the capabilities and real power of the Garmin GPS system for me. Having a functioning Garmin GNS 430 as part of the training was great as you got to immediately practice what you were learning. I should have done Garmin training years ago.”
Guff Muench, Piper Matrix, April 2010
